Sherry Rae Mathis Budiselich formerly of Ottumwa, Iowa, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov 14, 2016, surrounded by her husband and family.
Sherry was born to Barbara Hobbs Hoover and Le Ray Mathis on Feb 3, 1952. Sherry graduated from Eddyville High School, and from the Iowa School of Beauty as a licensed cosmetologist. Sherry loved family, friends, and holidays, especially Christmas, which will never be the same without her. Her hobbies were gardening, flowers, walks in the forest, and mushroom hunting. Antiquing was also an enjoyed pastime. Sherry shared a fondness of collectables with her sisters and her mother.
Those left to cherish Sherry’s memory are her husband Tom; three children Shane (Stephanie) Miner of Ottumwa, IA, Neila (Scott) Weyer of Greenwood, IN, and Charlie (Tiffany) Miner of Ottumwa, IA; ten grandchildren, Tristen, Aidan, Jensen, Tyler, Xavyor, Chrystian, Barron, Briella, Luxy and Tryniti; her mother and stepfather, Barbara and Don Hoover of Bloomfield, IA; three sisters, Kay (Kent) Evans of Richland, Tammy (John) Bienusa of Ottumwa, IA and Brenda (Brad) Kenney of Ottumwa, IA; Sherry’s mother-in-law, Cecelia Budiselich of Centerville, IA; three brothers-in-law, Guy (Lisa), George (Samantha), Anthony (Gail) and one sister-in-law, Gail (Fred) Moorman. Sherry leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.
Sherry was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Miner; her granddaughter Courtney Miner; her father, Ray Mathis; her sisters, Terri Leahy Riley and Debbie Mathis Blevins; her stepfather, Bill Leahy; and grandparents Genevieve and Lester Hobbs and Mary and Raymond Mathis. She will be laid to rest near her father-in-law “muscles” Tom Budiselich Sr. whom she loved dearly.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30PM, Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville. Burial will follow the service at Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville.
