Alan Barry Clark, age 58, of Fort Madison, formerly of Mystic, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at his home.
Alan was born on January 31, 1960 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Ned Ronald Clark and Ruth Mae (Holland) Clark. He graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 1978.
Alan held several jobs throughout his life. He worked for his family’s business, Clark’s Market in Mystic with his dad and brothers for several years. He also worked for CenturyLink Telecommunications Company for 20 years, Farner-Bocken, Joes Quick Shop, The Centerville Greenhouse, Capital Cable, and he drove a school bus for Centerville Schools. He enjoyed traveling, watching movies, and working with computers.
Left to honor Alan’s memory are his children, Brandy (John) VandeWalle of Rock Island, Illinois and Ryan (Heather) Clark of Centerville; his grandchildren, Addison VandeWalle, Alexander VandeWalle, Lincoln Clark, Alice Clark and Anderson Clark; his girlfriend, Tamara Dietsch; his siblings, Carol (Larry) Drake of Exline, Jimmie Bill (Melinda) Clark of Centerville, Claudia (Darrell) Harris of Moulton, and David (Kelli) Clark of Mystic; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends, whom will all miss him dearly.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Ruth Clark; a sister, Cynthia Clark; brothers, Ronnie Clark, Gary Clark, and Richard Clark; and a niece, Tracey Clark.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30AM, Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, with Pastor Jim Schweizer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery in Mystic. A Visitation will take place Monday, August 6, 2018 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family present from 5:00-7:00PM.
