Carl Thomas Robinson, age 23, the grandson of Cecil and Theresa (Riddick) Samuel, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City of a sudden illness.
Carl was born on April 7, 1995 in Clovis, New Mexico, the son of Richard and Jeannette (Moore) Robinson. He graduated in 2012 from Midland High School in Eldora, Iowa.
Carl is survived by his sister, Jennifer (Tim) Cassidy of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and their children, Lilianna and Daniel; his father, Richard (Betsy) Robinson of Portland, Tennessee, and their children, Collin, Faith and Isabella; his mother, Jeannette Boczkowska, and her son, Bobby of Edmund, England; his grandmother, Lindsey (John) Boczkowska Culver of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania; Richard and Pamela Winegarden of Seymour, Indiana; John and Barbara Riddick of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; as well as many other family members whom will all miss him dearly.
Carl was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Tom and Alice Riddick of Centerville; his aunt, Jennifer Robinson; his great aunt, Patricia Riddick Clarke; a great uncle Thomas E. Riddick; and his cousin, Master Sargent Travis W. Riddick.
Carl loved the outdoors. He cherished the many memories he had from his times spent at Camp Appanoose, and especially the “Rocky High Adventures” in the mountains of Colorado. Growing up, Carl spent many hours at his home swimming in the pond, snowmobiling, riding dirt bikes, and just enjoying life at home with his sister. Carl was a member of the Brushy Community Church in Plano, Iowa, and will be missed by his church family greatly.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor John VanWeelden officiating. Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery in Mystic. There will be a luncheon at the Mystic Community Center following the inurnment, where everyone is welcome. A Visitation will take place Saturday, February 9, 2019, with the family greeting friends from 9:00-10:00AM.
