Obituary

Georgia Cecelia Colflesh, age 77, of Belton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019.

She was born February 11, 1942, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Albert and Lucille (McCartney) Colflesh.

Georgia and her family relocated from Pottstown to Davenport, Iowa, in 1947.  Georgia’s formative years were spent in Davenport and she graduated from Assumption High School in 1960.

At the age of twenty-one, Georgia moved to Kansas City, Missouri.  She became employed with Rival Manufacturing Company.  Spanning a career of thirty years with the company, Georgia retired as the supervisor of printing.

Georgia was an active member of the Gospel Tabernacle of Belton, Missouri, for many wonderful years, where she enjoyed the fellowship of multiple treasured friends.  In her free time, she enjoyed playing the tambourine, as well as other musical instruments.  Georgia was also an avid supporter of Israel.

Left to cherish Georgia’s memory are her longtime companion, Doug Hart of Belton, Missouri; her siblings, Mary Watson of Belton, Missouri, Albert (Marie) Colflesh of Davenport, Iowa and Russel “Shane” Weston of Davenport, Iowa; special aunts, Geneva Risher of Centerville, Iowa, Grace Swavley of Pottstown, Pennsylvania; uncles, Lonnie Risher of Centerville, Iowa, and Ronnie Risher of St. Louis, Missouri; nephews, Isac Watson of Rich Hill, Missouri, Cameron Watson of Belton, Missouri; nieces, Candess Watson of Peculiar, Missouri, Kelly DesMarais of Tallahassee, Florida, and Julie Connor of Longwood, Florida; her lifelong best friend, Elizabeth Rose and her son, Thomas; and her god daughter, Jill Rose Silberg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lucille Colflesh; and a sister, Lauren Weston.
