American Veteran 01

Junior R. Robbins

May 14, 1925 ~ July 19, 2019 (age 94)

Junior Roscoe Robbins entered heaven today, July 19, 2019.  He was 94 years old.

Junior was born on May 14, 1925 to Noah Casper and Emma Jane (Vestal) Robbins in Cincinnati, Iowa. He weighed only 2 pounds, 12 ounces, and the doctor said not to name him, as he would not live overnight, hence the name Junior.  God had other plans, and allowed him to live these 94 years.

Junior was united in marriage with Patricia Arlee Scott on December 11, 1946.  She went to heaven on January 29, 1997.  They were blessed with one son, Reginald Paul Robbins and one grandson, Leslie Robbins.

Before entering the service, and going to Korea for WWII, Junior helped his dad haul coal.  After his honorable discharge in 1946, he went to work for John Deere Plow Works in Moline, Illinois.  He worked there for 31 years, before retiring with a number 1 rating.  He and his family then moved to Brazil, Iowa.

Junior accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 27, and served him as a layman the rest of his life.  He loved to bring the Word in nursing homes and churches, and helped lead many to Christ.  He was instrumental in starting the South Moline and Bethel Baptist Churches in Moline.  He served in many areas of church, and became a member of the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church after moving back to this area.

Junior was united in marriage to Sandi Bowen on August 28, 1998.  He then had two step children, Jeff Bowen and Penny Adams, many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Junior is survived by his wife, Sandi; son Reggie; grandson, Leslie; and step daughter, Penny.  Also, there are several sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and friends, plus many wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty; his parents, Noah and Emma Jane; a step son, Jeff Bowen; six brothers, Matt, Johnnie, Bill, Paul, Clova and Posy; four sisters, Reva Ulrick, Margaret Peel, Angelina Rook, and Betty Cridlebaugh.

Although he will be greatly missed here, we know he is having a great time in heaven with Jesus and all who got to go before him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Monday, July 22, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Adam Standley officiating.  Burial with military rites will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati.  A Visitation will take place Monday, July 22, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 9:00AM-11:00AM.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Sandi Robbins, to be determined at a later date, and may be dropped off or mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.  Condolences may be shared online at
