Lola Earleen Purvis, age 75, of Mystic, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
Lola was born on December 7, 1942, in Newellton, Louisiana, the daughter of Earl Gordon Purvis Sr. and Lola Jewel Ashley Moffatt. She attended Centerville High School. Lola was united in marriage to John Bryon Warnick on January 18, 1960. From this union, two children were born, a daughter, Melinda J. Warnick, and a son, John V. Warnick.
Lola loved spending time with her children. She enjoyed taking car rides around the lake and the countryside, admiring nature's beauty and watching all the birds, humming birds, wrens, and cardinals. She was also very fond of reading, puzzles, gardening, cooking and watching movies.
Left to cherish Lola's memory are her children, Melinda J. Warnick of Mystic, and John V. Warnick of Mystic; her siblings, Frances Ruth Woodliff (Ed) of Lapeer, Michigan, Catherine Elaine Abel of Riceville, Iowa, Jerry Purvis of Ottumwa, Shirley K. Kimberling (Bob) of Greely, Colorado, Terry Wayne Purvis (Deb) of Gifford, Iowa, Charlotte Fenton (Dennie) of Moulton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lola Jewel Ashley Purvis Moffatt; her father, Earl Gordon Purvis Sr.; a brother, Earl Gordon Purvis Jr.; a brother in law, Larry D. Abel; and a niece, Constance Abel.
Cremation has been accorded. Lange Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with caring for the Purvis family.
