Lynda (Neubauer) Kauzlarich, age 63, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, surrounded by her loving family.

Lynda was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Leo and Pat (Walz) Neubauer.  The family moved to Centerville in 1965, when her father became a foreman building the Rathbun Dam.

Lynda attended St. Mary School, Centerville High School (1973), Indian Hills Community College, and Northwest Missouri State University.

She retired after 34 years of service at Alliant Energy.  Previously, Lynda was employed at Young Radiator Company and Centerville National Bank.

Lynda is survived by her husband, Kelly and daughters, Stephanie (Kris) McDonald of Centerville, and Kari (Matt) Houser of Boone.  Also surviving are the joy of Lynda’s life, her four grandchildren, Madeline and Matthew McDonald and Patrick and Finley Houser.

Also surviving are her mother, Patricia Neubauer of Centerville and siblings, Bob Neubauer of Alta, Susan (Chuck) Beard of Sioux Falls, SD, Mary Jo (Sam) Allgier of Pleasant Hill, David (Diana) of Ogden, and Diane (Bryan) Hayes of Atlantic.

Lynda was preceded in death by her father, Leo, in September, and her sister, Roselyn.

Lynda served on many civic, school, and church committees.  She volunteered for many events and was proud to be a transport driver for people who had cancer treatment appointments in Des Moines and Iowa City.  She was a member of the Appanoose County Country Club; P.E.O. Chapter D, (current president); Wednesday Club, and was a long-time member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.  She was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Centerville.

Lynda was an avid walker, often walking more than five miles per day.  Besides golfing, and her flowers, she very much enjoyed decorating for Christmas.  She also enjoyed dancing and attending youth activities.

Perhaps her biggest enjoyment was being with family, especially her four grandchildren.
