Maurine Glascock, age 73, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Maurine was born on August 6, 1945 in St. Petersburg, Florida, the daughter of Donald and Lorraine (Lincoln) Gay. She was united in marriage to Jackie Paul Glascock, and to this union, a son was born, Jackie Paul Glascock Jr. They later divorced.
In her early years, Maurine moved to Centerville and worked for McGraw and Edison. When they closed their doors, she became a Physical Therapy Assistant. She worked with Ray Tresemer for many years, as well as at the Centerville Hospital. Most recently, she worked with home care aid at Appanoose Community Care Services. She was also a volunteer for respite care services.
Maurine was a member of the Dale Church, north of Centerville. She enjoyed gambling with her friends, and playing cards every day. She loved to work, and keep busy. She was adored and loved by all who knew her.
Left to cherish Maurine’s memory are her mother, Lorraine Gay, of Burlington, Kansas; her son, Jackie Paul Glascock Jr. of Centerville; eight siblings, Marion Henry, Marie (Robert) Brown, Don Ray Gay, Linda (Bill) Davidson, Joyce (Carl) Adams, Carol (Lonnie) Cunningham, Harold Gay, and Terri Odom.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Gay.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Gerald Campbell officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati. A visitation will take place, Monday, September 24, 2018 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with family greeting friends from 6:00-8:00PM.
