Nancy K. Purdy, 67, Galesburg, Illinois, died peacefully on Saturday, November 10th, 2018 at 1:30pm in Centerville, Iowa.
She was born February 17, 1951 in Galesburg, Il., the daughter of Ralph W. and Dorothy J. (Kisor) Mills. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1969. She was a legal secretary and had worked for various local attorneys and had also worked for Bridgeway, as an administrative assistant. She married Steven C. Purdy on December 31, 2001.
She bred and showed Yorkshire Terriers for many years and was most proud of her champion Yorkie, Romeo, who preceded her in death. She was a free spirit with a great sense of humor and always enjoyed playing pranks on her family and friends. She loved to travel, and she and her husband spent many winters in Florida in their RV.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Steven Purdy; her daughter, Melissa (and Shane) Peterson of Abingdon, IL.; her son, Craig (and Amy) Gregory of Winter Haven, FL.; her brother, Michael (and Diane) Mills of Rock Island, IL.; her granddaughter, Noelle Gibbs of Abingdon, IL.; her great-grandchildren, Kameron and Khloe of Abingdon, IL. and many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and many beloved pets.
Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded. There will be a Celebration of Life Service in the spring in Nancy’s honor. Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville has been entrusted with caring for the family. Condolences may be shared online at www.langefh.com.
