Bobby Wayne Hill, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, August 30, 2020 at the Putnam County Care Center in Unionville.
Bob was born on July 24, 1938, the son of Pearl and Vada (Brown) Hill in Putnam County, MO. Following his mother’s death when Bob was 5, he was raised by his grandmother. Bob was especially proud of his Indian heritage, as his grandmother was a full-blooded Cherokee, and his grandfather was ¾ Shoshone.
Bob grew up in the Chapel area of Putnam County, and attended the Livonia schools, graduating with the class of 1955. Bob was united in marriage to Brenda Colleen (Shrake) in 1957, and to this union three children were born: Shirley, Gwen and Jarrod. After graduation, Bob began working for Oscar Myers in Davenport, Iowa and retired in 1994 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Scott County Sheriff’s Posse for 22 years, which he thoroughly enjoyed and said “it was the best department in the state of Iowa”. He was also a member of the Nautilus Club, where he was a dedicated body builder for many years.
Bob was united in marriage to Dixie Trent (McDonald) on Sept 25, 1994. After moving to Unionville, Bob worked as the Compliance Officer for the city.
Bob would often say that Dixie brought him back to the Lord, and that she was his earthly salvation. As very devoted Christians, the couple shared their talent of singing gospel music with many churches in several states. Bob was also known as a prayer warrior, and many will miss his sincere and heart felt prayers as they were ready to depart.
Bob was a member of the Assembly of God church in Unionville, Missouri.
Bob is survived by his wife Dixie of Unionville, MO; his children, Shirley Hankins (Bob) of Bettendorf, Iowa, Gwen Lax of Bettendorf, IA and Jarrod Hill of Peoria IL, Bradley (Sheri) Trent, Pam (Mark) Torrey, and Mark (Trudie) Trent; his grandchildren, Ryan Hankins, Branden Hankins, Dakota Hill and Schyler Hill, Wesley Hunter, Jamie Hunter, Tanner Compton, Bryan Pearson, Kolton Pearson, Cody Pearson, Whitney Trent, Katie Trent, Josh Trent, Chet Trent, Cassie Lavely; great-grandchildren; Analisa, Theon, Oden, Athena, Ryker, Raylyn, Cameron, Trace, Bryanna, Dante, Jasmine, Robyn, Aryan, Kada, Kolter, Alyssa, Caleb, Jamie, Kinsley, Baylon, Careigh, Alice, Ripley, Lanie, Bodie, Briar, Finn, Everett, Olivia; his sister in law, Nancy Mullenix of Unionville; and brother in law, Tom (Ellen) McDonald of Unionville; along with several nieces and nephews.
