Bonnie Elaine (Exline) Talbot

December 2, 1932 ~ April 18, 2020 (age 87)

Bonnie Elaine (Exline) Talbot, age 87, of Centerville, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville.

Bonnie was born on December 2, 1932 in Exline, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Evelyn (Kaster) Exline.  She graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 1951.  On December 24, 1950, Bonnie was united in marriage to Eugene “Gene” Clifton Talbot in Centerville, Iowa.

Bonnie held various jobs prior to employment with ISU (Iowa Southern Utilities).  She was at ISU for several years as an Accounting Clerk.  She also owned and operated Hiatt’s Army Surplus Store just off the Centerville square for years.  When the youth would come in to Hiatt’s, she enjoyed all the ball card transactions and interactions with them.

During retirement, Bonnie enjoyed traveling with Gene, especially to Padre Island in Texas, where the couple owned land.  She enjoyed fly fishing in northeast Iowa and in the Rocky Mountains. Bonnie was fond of gardening and flowers.  Most importantly, she truly loved her family, more than she could have ever expressed, especially her grandchildren.

Left to cherish Bonnie’s memory are her husband of over 69 years, Gene Talbot of Centerville; her children, Richard Talbot of Centerville, and Joanne (Gary) Cridlebaugh of Centerville; 2 grandchildren, Mike (Sarah) Cridlebaugh of Grandview, Missouri and Sara (Kevin) Goryl of West Chester, Pennsylvania; two great grandchildren, Aidan Cridlebaugh and Lincoln Goryl; two sisters in law, Bonnie M. Talbot of Centerville and Nancy Exline of Centerville; a brother in law, Leonard Vidmar; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Evelyn Exline; a son, Bobby Talbot; a sister, Dixie Vidmar; and two brothers, Duane Exline and Gene Exline.

According to family wishes, cremation has been accorded.  There are no scheduled services at this time.
