Clella JoAnn Morrow, age 88, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Centerville Specialty Care.
JoAnn was born on March 19, 1931 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Luther and Bonnie (Bramhall) Minnick. She graduated from Moulton-Udell High School with the Class of 1948. After high school, JoAnn obtained her Teaching certificate. She was united in marriage to Elton Morrow on April 30, 1949. To this union, four children were born, Michael, Bill, Lora, and Joel.
JoAnn started working at McGraw Edison in 1967. She worked there until it’s closing in 1976. In 1978, she started working at Monroe Plastics. She left in 1981 to pursue a different career. JoAnn then began employment at Bluebird Café in Centerville as a cook for a brief period of time. Most recently, JoAnn was employed at Centerville Community Betterment as a case worker, and she retired after 20 years.
JoAnn was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Centerville. She loved vacationing, especially going to Minnesota and Branson. Branson, Missouri was her favorite vacationing spot-she went there every year!
Left to cherish JoAnn’s memory are her children, Bill (Carma) Morrow of Centerville, Lora (Tim) Kelly of Centerville, and Joel Morrow of Centerville; five grandchildren, Valerie (Sean) Howell, Jeremiah Morrow, Julie Morrow, Chris Kelly (Fiancé Allison), and Jeff (Janet) Hamilton; and five great grandchildren, Britany Howell, Nathan Howell, Blake Hamilton, Kaydence Wendland, and Giovanni Flowers.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Morrow; her parents, Luther and Bonnie Minnick; her son, Michael Morrow; a grandchild, Stefanie Morrow; and her siblings, Valda Curl, Homer Minnick, Leola McElderry, and Fanchen Pfannebecker.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Mark Waits officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will take place Friday, January 3, 2020 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
