Jerry was born on September 15, 1946 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Frank and Rose (Bellegante) Marshall.  In his formative years he attended school in Numa, later graduating from Centerville High School.  As a youth he was an alter boy at St. Williams Catholic Church in Numa and remained a member there until they closed and he became a member of St. Mary's in Centerville.   He was united in marriage to Betty Main on June 19, 1965 at St. Williams.  He was the proud father and role model to three children, James ‘Jim’, Shelly, and Kathy.

Jerry worked briefly for Vega Industries in Mt. Pleasant, Shivvers Manufacturing in Corydon, and welded for Mat Dixon.  For forty years, he was employed at Mitchell’s Floor Covering like his father Frank and was requested for miles around as the best in the area.  Since 1987, he owned and operated Marshall’s Archery in Numa where he enjoyed the friendship and stories of other archery enthusiasts.  He enjoyed many outdoor pastimes including hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also was a remarkable woods craftsman building everything from picture frames and snowmen to furniture.

Left to honor his memory is his loving wife of 55 years, Betty Marshall of Numa, Iowa; his 3 children, Jim (Tina) Marshall of Oskaloosa, Iowa; Shelly (Terry) Morgan of Osceola, Iowa; Kathy (Chuck) Allen of Centerville, Iowa; ten grandchildren, Lyman (Molly) Marshall, Kendal Marshall, Grace Marshall, Brie Marshall, Dakota (Bridgette) Morgan, Moriah (Steve Kiess) Morgan, Jeremiah Morgan, Montana Morgan, Megan (Chaz) Welch, Jessica Allen; five great grandchildren, Oliver Marshall, Riley Morgan, Avery Welch, Urijah Welch, Ilean Welch; a brother, Kenneth (Chris)  Marshall of Numa, his godson Jason (Nicole) Marshall; as well as his fishing buddy Richard Pauley.
