James Willard Lynch, age 69, of Cincinnati, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at his home.
James was born on September 30, 1951 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Arlene Lynch. He attended Pleasant Valley High School in Pleasant Valley, Iowa. On January 22, 1970, James enlisted into the United States Army. While in the military, he was stationed at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. He served his country faithfully overseas in Vietnam from June 6, 1970-April 25, 1971, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 device, Sharpshooter (M-16), 2 O/S Bars. James was honorably discharged from the US Army on January 5, 1972.
James was united in marriage to Patricia Fitch in 1979, and to this union, three children were born, Jeremiah, Matt, and Mike. The couple later divorced.
James spent many years working in the foundry industry. He worked at Jef-Scott Metals and PSF in Missouri for several years. In his younger years, James enjoyed fishing and hunting. He always tried to live his life to the fullest. In his later years, James enjoyed partying with friends, including drinking Budweiser and smoking herb.
Left to honor his memory are his children, Jeremiah (Alyssa) Lynch of Davenport, Matt (McKayla) Lynch of Cincinnati, and Mike (Emmaretta Hermon) Lynch of Cincinnati; six grandchildren; a brother, Brian Lynch of Exline; a sister, Sandy Mess of Davenport; as well as many extended family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Arlene Lynch; and a brother, Gary Lynch.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Friday, December 11, 2020 with Gordon Hawkins officiating. Burial will take place at Exline Cemetery, with full Military Rites. Visitation will take place Friday, December 11, 2020 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 10:00AM-11:00AM. Per Covid-19 guidelines, masks are required to enter the facility.
