Pamela Jean (Talbert) Cyrene, age 66, of Exline, originally of Monroe, Iowa, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born October 9, 1953 in Centerville, to Luther and Lois (Scott) Caster Jr. In 1971, Pam graduated from high school in Monroe. She later married Donald Cyrene in December 1973, and to this union of marriage, a daughter was born, Nicole. The couple later divorced.
In her early adult years, Pam was employed with Excel Corporation in Ottumwa. She later worked as a cook at numerous entities, including the Davis County Hospital, Monroe County Hospital and was currently a cook with Indian Hills Community College in Centerville. Pam also spent a brief period of time delivering meals to senior citizens in the Corydon area.
In her free time, Pam enjoyed raising and training German Shepherds. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in dog raising, Pam was an asset to the German Shepherd community.
She also loved painting, nature and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Nicole (Bill Young) Cyrene of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren, Alicia (Dan) McCain of New Sharon; Travis Bricker of Colorado; Benjamin Bricker of Texas; Thomas (Whitney) Bricker of Ankeny; Joshua Bricker of Moravia; Allen (Justyne) Young of Ottumwa; Dani Young of Minnesota; and Sabrina Young of Minnesota; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Warren) Vander Leest of Sully and Jo (John) Wynn of West Virginia; as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles.
Pam’s life will be honored at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 28 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, with Pastor Christy Ehrle officiating. A visitation will precede the Celebration of Life service on Friday at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family receiving friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Private burial will take place following the service. Memorials have been established at the Heartland Humane Society and Furever Friends Rescue of Appanoose, Inc.
