Robert “Bob” Alvin Williams, age 76 of Cincinnati, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville.
He was born on September 4, 1944 in Ava, Missouri, the son of Lee Simpson and Jewell (Brown) Williams. Bob graduated from Ava High School in 1962.
Bob spent his entire adulthood working hard to support both himself and his family. Following his high school graduation, he entered the broadcast field as a disc jockey for a radio station. More of a passion than a job, Bob worked as a disc jockey at numerous radio stations.
He was also employed with Dunlap, as well as St. Joseph’s Hospital/Mercy Medical Center in Centerville for a period of time. Most recently, Bob was employed in security with Lee Container in Centerville.
It should be stated that in his earlier years, Bob developed a passion for race car driving. He enjoyed the competition and actively sought out competitive races whenever he could during his mid adult years.
Bob also gave back to his community when he accepted a position as a reserve deputy sheriff while residing in Lebanon, Missouri.
Family members describe Bob as a “jack of all trades” in terms of his handy man skills. A talent with his hands, Bob could fix just about anything, including car restoration, electrical work, carpentry, and plumbing.
Most importantly, Bob’s motivating force in his life was his family, cherishing every opportunity to spend time with them, especially his grandchildren. Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life, Bea Perrin on September 30, 1986.
Left to honor his legacy include his wife, Bea Perrin of Cincinnati, Iowa; his daughter, Crystal (Clifford) Perrin-Conger of Cincinnati, Iowa; two grandchildren, Aiden “Blue Boy” Perrin and Ava “Twinkle” Conger of Cincinnati, Iowa; three siblings, Marcy (Gary) Buckallew of Centerville, Iowa, Wilma “Yvonne” Sacco of Centerville, Iowa and Nyla Fowler of Cincinnati, Iowa; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and cousins; along with a damn slew of fur babies that he dearly loved.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Jewell Williams; and six siblings, Rose Marie Williams, Billy Ray Williams, Lee JR Williams, Mozie Blackmon, Thelma “Sugg” Hicks, and Shirley Starbuck.
Bob’s life will be honored with a Celebration of Life service at 1 PM, Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Solid Rock Church of God in Centerville with Pastor Tony Angran officiating. A visitation will take place on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Solid Rock Church of God, with the family greeting friends from 12-1PM. A memorial has been established to Bea Perrin, to be determined at a later date, and may be mailed or given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, IA, 52544.
