Rosalie Jean Heminger, age 83 of Moulton, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Keosauqua Healthcare Center.
Rosalie was born on March 25, 1937 in Mount Sterling, Iowa, the daughter of Doyle and Mary “Beula” (Williams) Philips.
Rosalie owned and operated the Batavia Drive-In in Batavia, Iowa for several years. She then Started at Ottumwa Hy-Vee, eventually relocating to Centerville Hy-Vee, working there for numerous years until her retirement.
Rosalie enjoyed sewing, reading, flowers, gardening and music. She loved playing Bluegrass music and attending the concerts.
Left to cherish Rosalie’s memory are her children, Rebecca Jean Eland of Farmington, Iowa, Jane Pohren of Fairfield, Iowa, and Jerry (Dreama) Heminger of Webb City, Missouri; siblings, Joan Baker, Sherry Evans, Midge Breckenridge, Linda Briggs, and Alan Philips; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Beula Philips; and her special friend of over thirty years, Bill Withrow.
Per Rosalie’s wishes, cremation has been accorded. Services will be held at a later date. Memorials have been established to Compassus Hospice in Mt.
