Thomas Floyd Reynolds, age 67, of Albia, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.
Tom was born on October 4, 1953 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the son of Floyd Lavern Reynolds and Audrey Helen (Hudson) Reynolds. After high school graduation, Tom furthered his education with two years of college. He was united in marriage to Jayne Carole Ann Schmitt on February 22, 1975 in Dubuque, Iowa, and to this union, two children were born, Josh and Erin. On November 7, 2020, Tom was united in marriage to Debra Sue (Patton) Illingworth.
Tom worked for Iowa Steel and Wire for 27 years. He started in sales, and towards the end of his 27 years, he was the Sales Manager for the company. He retired from Iowa Steel and Wire, and was able to spend more time with his family and doing what he loved.
Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and yardwork, including landscaping. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Moravia. Most importantly, Tom cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.
Left to honor Tom’s memory are his wife, Deb Reynolds of Albia; his children, Joshua Thomas Reynolds (Kristi) of Ely, Iowa, and Erin Elizabeth Reed (Jason) of Centerville; three grandchildren, Nile Reynolds, Nolan Reynolds and Maizy Reed; and a brother in law, Dan Hart of Cedar Falls; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Audrey Reynolds; his first wife, Jayne Reynolds; and a sister, Melanie Hart.
Per Tom’s wishes, cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life service will take place next spring/summer. Service times will be announced closer to the date. In lieu of flowers, Memorials have been established to the Grace United Methodist Church in Moravia, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, C/O Reynolds family, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
